Age Verification Policy

1. 18+ only
SplitClips is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. Access to explicit content is gated behind an age assurance check before any content is displayed.
2. Buyer age assurance
Before an account may access, purchase, or unlock explicit content, we perform an automated facial age-estimation check through our third-party age assurance provider, Didit. Where the estimated age is comfortably above 18, access is approved. Where the result is inconclusive or close to the threshold, the check automatically falls back to verification against a government-issued identity document, processed by that same provider under its own privacy and security safeguards.
3. Seller identity and age verification
Every Seller must submit government-issued photo ID confirming they are 18 or over, together with a dated photograph of themselves holding that ID, before their account can publish content. These records are reviewed manually before an account is approved to sell, and are retained as required by our 2257 Compliance Statement, stored securely and separately from general account data.
4. False declarations
Providing false age or identity information is a serious breach of our Terms of Service and will result in immediate account termination and, where content involving a minor is discovered, referral to the National Crime Agency and other relevant authorities without delay.
5. Alignment with the Online Safety Act 2023
We are committed to meeting our obligations under the Online Safety Act 2023 to apply proportionate, highly effective age assurance to content that could be harmful if accessed by a minor. Ofcom has not set a single fixed numerical age threshold for facial age-estimation checks; it is for each platform to set a "challenge age" appropriate to its content. Consistent with the UK's established Challenge 25 principle, our system applies a buffer above the age of 18 rather than estimating exactly to that boundary, and we will review and adjust this approach as Ofcom's codes of practice and technical guidance develop.
6. Parents and guardians
SplitClips is not intended for use by anyone under 18. Parents and guardians concerned about a minor's potential access to this site are encouraged to use device-level or network-level parental control software in addition to the safeguards described above.
